2024 Fall Impound Auction

Gates will open at 8:00 AM – Auction will start at 10:00 AM

WATFORD CITY, ND - The McKenzie County Sheriff's Office will hold a public impound auction on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024 at the McKenzie County Impound lot located at 305 11th Ave SE, Watford City, ND 58854 at 10:00 AM.  Gates will open and bidder registration will begin at 8:00 AM.  

A total of 50 vehicles are scheduled to be auctioned.  Inventory includes vehicles that were evidence, involved in crashes, or abandoned vehicles.  The auction list is subject to change, however no additional vehicles will be added.

Auction goers are asked to bring their ID to receive a bid number and to park respectively of others.  Auction goers shall not block access to any other businesses at any time. 

Cash only.  All sales final.  All vehicles are sold as is.  Vehicle buyers must pay at the end of the auction.  Buyers will receive a Law Enforcement Impound Bill of Sale the day of the auction at time of payment.  

Buyers are responsible for driving or towing the vehicle(s) from the lot.  Buyers will not be allowed to leave a purchased vehicle outside of the impound lot to be towed later.  Buyers can remove vehicles after the conclusion of the entire auction and after receiving a bill of sale until Saturday November 2nd, 2024 at 5:00 PM.  Any vehicles not retrieved can be removed during the hours of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday November 4th through Friday November 8th, 2024 by appointment.  If retrieving a vehicle after Saturday November 2nd, a bill of sale must be in hand.  Any vehicle not out of the impound lot after Friday November 8th, 2024 at 4:30 PM will begin accruing a $15.00 daily fee per business day thereafter.  

The impound lot will be open to the public on Friday November 1st, 2024 from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM to preview vehicles up for auction.  Attendees are not allowed to open or manipulate vehicles.  

Vehicles for auction are subject to change.

In accordance with NDCC 29-31.1-02 and 23.1-15-05  all identifiable/registered owners and lien holders have been notified. Owners may claim property before the auction by presenting proof of ownership, registration and insurance if required, and paying all towing, impound, and storage charges at the Sheriff’s Office.
